Eligibility

If your client is:

  1. A Refugee – Granted leave to remain with recourse to public funds and eligible to have their fees paid for by Housing Benefits
  2. An Asylum Seeker/Destitute Asylum Seeker or Economic Migrant - without recourse to public funds but is being supported by the Home Office/Local Authority or another organisation/Charity willing to pay contracted fees.
  3. An Asylum Seeker Leaving Care/Foster Care – Currently supported by the Local Authority or another organization/Charity willing to pay contracted fees.

Homeless refugees who are in need of immediate accommodation and support are accepted into Palm Cove Society on the basis of a 12 month licence to reside or until a permanent tenancy is secured.

Whereas destitute asylum seekers with additional support needs and Unaccompanied Asylum Seeker Children leaving Care/Foster Care who are being supported by social services can have an indefinite period of residence with Palm Cove Society.

Smiling LadyReferral must be made by one of our key partnerships such as social services, the local council, health care provider, the police, housing providers, hostels or voluntary initiatives working with any of the above mentioned client groups.

For migrants or asylum seekers, prior to admission contracts must be signed by the relevant fee paying body, whose agent must accompany the individual and any child/ren to our premises.
